Do You Live In The Most Well-Read City In America?
Andrew here, Editor of HuffPost Books, bringing you the news that Amazon has published its latest list of "most well-read cities" in the country. Of course, Amazon's definition of "most well-read" is "bought most books / newspapers / magazines / e-books from our website," so the exclusion of, say, New York City might actually be a sign that it is very well served by local bookstores and libraries, rather than filled with non-readers. The biggest city to drop out of Amazon's list between last year and this year is Seattle - home of Amazon itself. We were there recently for a HuffPost Book Club event, and can report that the city also has an excellent independent bookstore, and a stunning central library. Perhaps Seattle-ites haven't given up on reading after all. Click here to see if your city made Amazon's top ten. More at HuffPost Books BLOG POSTS
