We are very excited.
Today we begin our discussions on Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises, our community's top choice for this month. And based on your recommendations we're trying something a little different: live video chats.
Visit the discussion page at 4pm EST today, July 18th and join our chat where I'll discuss a few points we're focusing on and talk though the first 50 pages of the book.
During the chat we'll ask you to suggest questions and thoughts around the main topics we'll be watching, namely, the definition of a classic, misogyny in Hemingway, and the 'lost generation.' I'll also discuss a few ways community members can get further involved this time around.
If you can't make it at 4pm exactly, you'll be able to catch up on the video and leave suggestions in the comments of the post. Today is only our first discussion. Here's when you can expect the following:
July 18: Chapters I - V; July 25: Chapters VI - X; Aug 1: Chapters XI - XIII; Aug 8: XIV - XVII; Aug 15: XVIII - XIX
